What Is Qira’at?

The term Qira’at (قراءات) refers to the original methods of recitation of the Quran that have been transmitted by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ through ten great Imams and their students. Our course materials are designed to reach the students at whatever level they may be, freshly completed Tajweed or ready to tackle an Ijazah in Qiraat, and lead them step by step through the depth and diversity of Quranic recitation.
Level 1: Tajweed Expertise & Phonetic Foundation
Learners go back to the foundation of Tajweed basics before delving into Qira’at variations. You will learn to master:
  • Makharij al-Huruf (Points of Articulation): get your pronunciation of difficult Arabic sounds (such as ḥā, ʿayn, ghayn, and qāf) right.
  • Sifaat al-Huruf (Features of Letters): discover the identifying features of every letter like heaviness (tafkhīm), lightness (tarqīq), and softness (leen).
