Module 1: Fundamentals of Tajweed
Understanding what Tajweed is and why it matters in your Deen (religion). The virtue of reciting the Qur’an with Tajweed, according to the Hadith and Sunnah. Arabic letters, articulation points, and pronunciation correction. Learning to recite short Surahs with correct rhythm and clarity.
Rules of Nūn Sākinah and Tanwīn: Idgham, Ikhfā, Iqlāb, and Izhar. Rules of Meem Sākinah: Ikhfā Shafawi, Idgham Shafawi, Izhar Shafawi. Madd (Elongation): Kinds of Madd in Arabic and their length. Qalqalah: The echoing sound, and its five letters.
Correct application of Sifaat al-Huroof (characteristics of letters). Tarteel skills and developing your Tilawah voice and fluency. Correcting pronunciation errors common for English speakers. Understanding the meaning behind the verses through light Tafsir to enhance connection during recitation.
